Let’s say there is a writer. He believes that his writing skill, his grammatical magic that people love and relate to, comes from his pen. And then one day he lost his pen. He can’t write anymore. He tried another pen, but for some reason, he can’t write. Like if you’re a photographer, when you think that the power comes from the camera, when you lose the camera, you can’t shoot the way you used to, because you lost what captured the amazing photos. Like you lost your magic needle that used to help you create fashion, clothes.

And suddenly, one day he got to know that, fuck, it wasn’t my pen. It was his hand that was letting him write. And then he lost his hand from an accident. He can’t write anymore, because his great hand that gave him power to write has gone.

But eventually, he realised that it wasn’t his hand either. It was his brain, his thinking, that made him write this way. And then, let’s say he got into an accident that caused a brain injury, or something that made him forget who he was, which made him lose brain functionality, like he can’t think like he used to. And he stopped writing.

Do you really think that he can’t produce any writing? Or do you think that the writings or the art come from beyond the mind?

I mean, think about it, really think about it.

It’s completely nonsense, right? If his brain’s not working, how can he produce any more art? Like I said, he chopped his hand off, right? Like that, if anyone chopped his head off, it is completely, utterly bullshit to believe he will be able to produce writing.

But what if I say that you and the writer who thought that the power of writing comes from his pen are not so different?

When you believe your pen or your camera or your needle is what gives you power to create art, it’s the same as when you believe your brain or your thinking is what makes you create art.

It’s none of it.

The writing or the story is you.

Literally. Yeah, literally. I’m not talking philosophy or poetry. I’m literally saying the art is you.

It doesn’t matter if any of your body got chopped off, or your hand got chopped off, or if you’re not even alive anymore. It doesn’t matter. The art is you.

So that you’re always alive.

But there won’t be a new creation. You did all your art and then you died, so there won’t be any more.

NO,

you reincarnate to people, to animals, to trees. Your art is still there.

Okay, now let’s define what art is.

Art is an expression of feelings, right?

So when you watch a film, it’s not about the story going well, the lighting is good, or the frame is good. No, no. When you finish watching it, the feeling that you get is the art.

“Oh, so the lighting or the frame is not art?”
